On the 4th February, Hirequip in conjunction with Emirates Team New Zealand hosted some Auckland customers on Auckland Harbour in a unique experience which was to participate in match racing on 50 foot yachts.

It was a beautiful summers day with ideal breeze and all were encouraged to take the helm, exert energy on the winches, or simply sit back and enjoy the views of other 'men at work'.

After the ‘warm up’ match racing, all teams got the ultimate thrill of sailing the 'real thing', being the previous Americas Cup yacht, NZL41.

After the sailing the group enjoyed a BBQ at Emirates Team NZ compound and an overview by Kevin Shoebridge (Director of Sailing) and Doug Reid from Team NZ about the current state of the forthcoming Americas Cup campaign.
